How Marcus and Ashley Paid off $107,000 of Debt in 3 Years

Sometimes, children can be your inspiration to get out of debt and build wealth. In other situations, however, hardships and sacrifices are a reality that couples have to face in order to get out of debt. The question is: What level of difficulty would you be willing to go through to achieve a debt-free life?

Some people take the hard road to get to the finish line the soonest, but many lose heart along the way. We hope to inspire you in today’s episode of The His & Her Money Show, as Marcus and Ashley share with us their story of enduring the ball and chain of debt initially, and yet succeeded paying off $107,000 of debt in 33 just months.

A mere month after Marcus and Ashley’s wedding, they embraced the idea of paying off their debt as introduced by their premarital counselor. Using their experiences with their counselor as an admonition, they started realizing that they wanted to be in a better financial status for the purpose of imparting a solid foundation and a good example to their kids.

Marcus and Ashley took a challenging route to position themselves for expeditious success. Having to spend less quality time with each other, staying as frugal as they could possibly be, and laboring all day long, served as an effective and at times, difficult strategy for them to undertake. But prayer and resolution for change of their economic position kept Marcus and Ashley motivated and helped them to stay true to their course.

Presently debt-free, Marcus and Ashley are now savoring complete authority to their time and money management. Gathering all the lessons they’ve learned through the journey of paying off debt, they improved their perceptions of money, people, and life in general.
