How Selling Her Car Helped Julie Pay Off $90,000 Of Debt In 18 Months!

Paying off debt often means sacrificing in the present for a successful future. Sometimes it takes many small sacrifices, sometimes big chunks. Some sacrifices may not affect a person so much but there are other sacrifices that make a person think twice before letting go. It really depends on how much a person would want to go through in order to pay off the debt in a speedy time.

One example is the debt-free story of our guest on today’s episode of The His & Her Money Show, Julie. She shares with us how she was able to combat the pains of sacrifices, ending up victorious and satisfied paying off $90,000 worth of debt in merely 18 months!

It may seem like a good deal of graduating from college, having a car, and a well-furnished home. But the deal turned sour when Julie got stressed out from debt.

Julie started off re-evaluating her and her husband’s lives, downsizing their lifestyle in order to be financially empowered and be debt-free. Equipped with spreadsheets and all the strategies in mind, she eventually was able to get her husband on board with her plans of moving out of their house and get better-paying jobs.

For some reason, people are more likely to talk you into debt than talk you out of debt.

With every little gesture they did, Julie gathered many small ways of additional income into big chunks of money that helped them push their way to financial freedom. Tunnel vision helped Julie go through selling many items that she holds dear to her. She kept her eyes on the prize and endured temporary pain for a long-term gain.

Paying off debt may demand sacrifices, which could already be an obstacle to some people. And as it is in life, Julie and her husband had to go through more bumps on the road as they take their journey together. But with her husband’s collaboration, Julie found ways to go through obstacles and stay motivated at full length towards her goal.

In the end here’s Julie has to say: “We lived like no one was willing to live for 18 months… but the rest of our lives we have that to look forward to.”

Julie is passionate to help other people with their career and money questions, providing her own experiences, strategies, and the knowledge she learned in all respects of her debt-free journey. You can find more about Julie and her services at Millennial Boss
