Debt freedom: this is something that over 80% of Americans think about every single day. Unfortunately, living paycheck to paycheck to pay the bills is the much more common reality, and with everyday expenses and financial obligations getting in the way, paying off those student loans can be pushed to the back burner. Being in debt isn’t an exclusive club, but that doesn’t make getting OUT of debt any easier.
On this episode of The His & Her Money Show, we’ve invited Sophia Carty from our FREE Facebook group, Smart Money Couples, to give out some advice and tell us all about how she’s paid off $47,310.94 of her — in 12 months!
With student loans, two mortgages, and credit cards needing to be taken care of, Sophia was financially supporting not one, but two households, and looking at an uphill battle with seemingly no way out. Then she found The His & Hers Money Show and decided it was time to escape the struggle, and started out on her fight to debt freedom.
Today she talks to us about sticking to a budget and finding ways to save, from energy conservation in the home to eliminating unnecessary extras throughout the work week. She also shares with us about the benefits and advantages of finding balance between health and wellness, faith, and financial planning, which she teaches through her blog, and how she utilized social media to find her own business/lifestyle medium.
