How to Lose What Weighs You Down So You Can Love God, Yourself, and Others

More and more people today are becoming conscious about fitness and health but often lose the motivation to stay on the path. We can easily fall into the trap of being pumped and ready for action at the start, but quickly give up and lose the goal or purpose in sight. What can help us stay true to the journey and remain not only dedicated and passionate but focused and determined?

In this episode of The His & Her Money Show, we have Alisha Keeton talking about the correlation between fitness and faith. Heart, soul, mind, and strength should all be working together, and fitness helps us all to feel better and improve our biomechanics, social life, and well-being.

Alisha focuses on pushing through the pain; there’s no getting around the grind. She doesn’t suggest extreme measures but believes in small changes that build up over time and build confidence and a belief in ourselves.

God places eternity into each man’s hearts.

At times, we all get hit hard and we slowly start to give up on our goals and dreams; but some people have a revelation about themselves, and Alisha understood what she needed to do in order to make some changes. Using her faith in God, she held on to her why, and understanding her why or her motivation, she moved from her not so healthy home into the fitness world.

Fitness became Alisha’s thing and she has now gained control. Eventually, she entered competitions and became a personal trainer; however, she still felt lonely and nothing satisfied her as there was something missing. Alisha looked deep inside and thought long and hard about her own self-desires, and could only do so by seeking a higher power. By questioning what it is she wants, only then could she stay motivated to find her passion.

Life is about relationships, with God, and with others. Life should not be surrounded by primary and secondary objects; rather, we should tune into our minds, sit still, and reset them. It’s not all about food or nutrition or how much we workout; it doesn’t matter if we burn out the next day. Turning off our minds for one to three minutes will clear ourselves and enable us to observe what is around us more.

Alisha Keeton is a married mother with two children and the founder of a Ministry called Revelation Wellness. She uses the gospel to spread the message about the motive for fitness and understanding our relationship with everything around us.
