Finances can often put a strain on relationships – however, when Josh and Elisha decided to combine their finances, they embarked on a journey that not only led them towards paying 30k of debt within eight months but also brought about new conversations that strengthened their relationship.

While their debt came from student loans, car loans, and credit card debt from the past, Josh and Elisha’s decision to pay it off was motivated by their son’s future. By setting hard deadlines for themselves, they’re quickly moving towards being able to invest in more opportunities for their whole family.
Josh and Elisha attribute their progress to their decision to finally combine finances. All of a sudden, they were able to see each other’s spending and hold each other accountable – for shopping, eating out, and even secret Chick-fil-A purchases.
By taking odd jobs and working long hours, they’ve sacrificed sleep and time with each other. However, they push on, knowing that if they stay motivated, not only will they make it to the end of their debt-free journey, but they will also make it together.
