How Calvin Paid Off $53,000 of Debt In Just 3 Years

When you’re going after a goal you’re becoming something different. You are in a space where you are out of your element… You feel like a fish out of water. This could cause people to struggle and frantically seek out solutions, in order to reach their goal. But how much faith would you put in a solution served on a plate?

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Such is the prevalent theme of our guest, Calvin Wayman, on today’s episode of The His & Her Money Show. He talks to us about how he took the leap of faith trusting a book and succeeded in paying off $53,000 in 3 years!

Calvin started off as any typical young person, learning that building credit may be a smart move. Getting deeper into debt, he learned that debt isn’t his friend and began resenting the fact of how financial institutions had dibs on his paycheck before he did.

Being a numbers person, Calvin took account of his cash flow but was not able to come up with solutions to his financial problem… until he learned the real truth about money: It’s behavioral.

Now living a debt-free life, Calvin felt the freedom to make options in his finances. As he said, “I’m just getting started with other opportunities that are coming that would not have been able to happen if I was weighted down by that debt.”

One of Calvin’s passions is unlocking the belief in people, whether in finance or anything. In his book, “Fish Out Of Water,” he mentions several principles that will help people avoid reverting back to their old “fishbowl”.
