Steps To Building A Better Relationship with Your Spouse

There’s nothing as good as taking some steps to build a better us. Furthermore, it is the best way to achieve strong relationships. It starts with being a better individual and the rest will follow. Self-awareness and good communication, form the main foundation for healthier dealings with our partners.

On today’s episode of The His & Her Money Show, we’re grateful to have BJ Thompson, the Founder of Build A Better Us. He’s also a second-time guest, and he deep dives into building better marriages with a ton of insights on how we can strengthen ourselves so that we can strive to be perpetually building a better us!

BJ has been married for sixteen years and has three children. Back then, he came to know that the Lord Jesus Christ is truly the source of his life. He also realized that there was something lacking in his life, and he figured out that he had to start his mission of helping other people in crisis relationships.

Seeking help from God through prayer and therapy was a big help. He also observed during his counseling with clients that they waited until the point of being exhausted and desperate with each other before they sought help.

A better relationship is only as healthy as you are as an individual.

Furthermore, BJ emphasizes learning as a path to the self-awareness that allows us to properly communicate our feelings to others–putting words to all the things you experience. Also, a growth mindset is something you have to cultivate within yourself, so you are not just believing that things are going to magically happen.

Being in a relationship doesn’t mean you’re an expert about it. Learn through reading and studying and then apply what you know to new things so that your marriages can be always in the posture of ‘building a better us’.
