How Small Daily Decisions are Helping Rachel Become Debt Free

If you’re on your way to becoming debt-free, you know it’s not always a linear path. There will be many hurdles in your journey. Layoffs, flooded houses, broken down cars – and you might start questioning whether you’ll ever get to your goal.

Moreover, when faced with such challenges, how do you keep moving forward when your debt can sometimes feel insurmountable?

In this episode, Rachel Dowd is here to talk about how she approaches life’s unexpected challenges and how she keeps herself motivated by finding gratitude in smaller victories.

We interviewed Rachel for our series “In the Middle”, where we talk to individuals who are still progressing through their journey towards a debt-free life.

Rachel and her husband are almost halfway towards becoming debt-free. Their thirteen-year journey has had its ups and downs. However, Rachel’s positive mindset, as well as her faith in God, kept her motivated towards debt freedom.

Now free of consumer debt, Rachel shares how she and her husband have made changes in small, daily decisions and persisted through their challenges.

They celebrate every win, even if it’s just five dollars towards their mortgage, and this optimism radiates from Rachel throughout the conversation.

We loved hearing how Rachel’s journey towards becoming debt-free brought her opportunities to serve her community, led her to friendships, strengthened her marriage, and taught her to find joy in her sweet and simple home.
